SALLIE GILLENTINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL- THE FUTURE STARTS HERE...We are the only primary campus in Harmon County. Approximately, 300 students, Pre-K through 5th grades are part of the elementary family. The excitement and adventure of the Sallie Gillentine journey focuses on capturing the hearts and minds of children. Saxon Math/Phonics, Zaner-Bloser Language, Handwriting without Tears, Scott-Foresman Reading and the Accelerated Reader are part of the quality curriculum used to meet Common Core Standards. Computers are in every classroom, as well as in the twenty five station computer lab. In addition, the school practices safety first with a closed campus, visitor check-ins, and a school police officer. Sallie Gillentine has something for everyone! Six Flags Reading Program, Little Dribblers Basketball, monthly musicals, Readers Club, Marble Mania, Spotlight Students, popcorn Fridays and an End of the Year Bash are favorites. Awards for excellence are part of the package, too! Test scores are above state and national averages and Sallie Gillentine has been named Title 1 Distinguished School, as well as being the home of state and nationally recognized teachers.
